Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Girki mobile application (“App”) operated by Uplicon Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Subscription & Billing
Girki is a paid subscription service with the following pricing:
Monthly Plan
₦1,500/month
Billed monthly, auto-renews
Yearly Plan
₦12,000/year
Billed annually, auto-renews
Free Trial
New users receive a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial period. At the end of the trial, your subscription begins automatically unless you cancel beforehand.
Auto-Renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually). Your chosen payment method will be charged 24 hours before the renewal date.
Payment Processing
All payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not store your payment information. Applicable taxes may be added depending on your location.
Cancellation & Refunds
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain full access until then.
No Partial Refunds
We do not offer partial refunds for unused time in a billing period. If you cancel a monthly subscription on day 5 of your billing cycle, you still have access for the remaining 25 days.
Refund Requests
Refund requests must be directed to Apple or Google, as they process all payments. We have no ability to issue refunds directly. For exceptional circumstances, contact us at hello@girki.app and we will do our best to help.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use Girki only for lawful, personal purposes. You must not:
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the app's source code
- Use automated tools to scrape or access the app's content or APIs
- Share your account credentials with others or allow multiple people to use your account
- Use the app for any commercial purpose without our written permission
- Attempt to circumvent subscription verification or access paid features without a valid subscription
- Upload or transmit any malicious code or harmful content
- Violate any applicable Nigerian or international law in your use of the app
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, without refund for any remaining subscription period.
Intellectual Property
All content in the Girki app — including but not limited to recipes, AI-generated food photography, illustrations, text, design, code, and the Girki name and logo — is owned by or licensed to Uplicon Limited and protected under applicable copyright and intellectual property law.
You may view and use this content for your personal, non-commercial use within the app. You may not reproduce, distribute, publicly display, or create derivative works from our content without our express written permission.
You retain ownership of any data you provide to the app (your pantry list, cook history). By using the app, you grant us a limited licence to use this data to provide the service as described in our Privacy Policy.
Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
No Warranties
Girki is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
Recipe Accuracy
Recipes and nutritional information in the app are provided for general guidance only. We are not liable for any allergic reactions, foodborne illness, or other health outcomes arising from your use of recipes in the app. Always check ingredients for allergens.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, Uplicon Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of your use of or inability to use the App.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.
Service Changes & Availability
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any part of it at any time, with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of significant changes that affect your subscription.
If we permanently discontinue the App, we will provide a pro-rated refund for any remaining subscription period.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notification at least 7 days before the changes take effect.
Continuing to use the App after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop using the App and cancel your subscription.
